I'm just wondering what other Expos fans are planning to do when
spring training starts rolling around in a few months and talk turns
to Opening Day. Rooting for another team (jumping on the Red Sox
bandwagon or, heaven forbid, cheering the Blue Jays) does not really
seem like an option. Anybody planning to drive south a couple of
times a summer to see baseball in DC or will minor league ball have to
satisfy the craving?
I haven't seen it mentioned here much, but how great was it to see
Cabrera have the chance to really come through on the biggest stage?
He was great with Nos Amours and I always hoped he get a chance to
play in some big games. >> Stay informed about: Next year? |

I've always been both an Expos and Red Sox fan, so no bandwagon there,
downright masochistic.
In the NL, I'm thinking of rooting for either the Cubs or the Dodgers,
another cursed team to take to heart, or another Yankees nemesis.
Either way, whoever will win my heart or beat the Evil Empire.

Amen, the I'm for anybody over the Yankees.
I think I'm going to plan a trip down to DC this summer and if the
fans there are cool with me wearing my Expos hat then maybe I'll
become a convert. But will they have Molson and poutine? Alas,
probably not. What about Youppi? Is he part of the package? >> Stay informed about: Next year? |

I have a suspicion that I will be instituting a personal boycott of
baseball. I may keep an eye on the Washington team just to see if they have
an ownership group that intends to be both responsible and committed to
putting a strong product on the field two thing that were consistently
lacking with the Expos since the Bronfmann sale.

I read something about Youppi NOT being part of the package.

FOrget baseball, it's just Rounders with a few additional rules and
the only people that play Rounders are English School girls.
Cricket, that's the ticket.

Agree. Been manipulated, lied to and literally abused
by previous 'Spos ownership I'll likely start watching
a new sport all together. I love baseball and play it on a
regular basis (except for Winter), but to watch or attend an MLB game..
probably never again.

You guys are just agreeing back and forth lately -- it's ... weird.
I live in a two-team market, so there's no avoiding baseball here. I'll
probably watch plenty of Giants and Athletics games. I'm also an Angels
fan, just as I was before, and will watch Vlady. >> Stay informed about: Next year? |

I was watching Ken Burn's great Baseball film series the other day and
got to the "Ninth Inning" (1970-1993). They have an interview with Bill
Lee and he mentions Youppi! I hadn't noticed that in the previous times
I'd seen it. Just another reminder ... >> Stay informed about: Next year? |

The Washington Post reported that Youppi would be coming to Washington.
I've been wearing an Expos hat in this area since 1973 and see no reason
to stop.
