You know Livan will get traded. For once in a long time, we have a guy who
we can trust to win we it gets hot, and instead of trying to sign him for a
few more years and build around him, they'll trade him for suspects.... The
guy is what, 27, and still we won't keep him..

pure speculation, besides if Guerrero signs somewhere else they will have
Money to keep Livan.

I doubt Livan will be dealt in the off-season. Say the team is told
it will play 81 games in Montréal in 2004. I'd bet only one pitcher
will be dealt, Vazquez, for a power hitter and a prospect. If the
Expos could have other team's luck with injuries then we'd be in first
place nad drawing 10,000 by now. Montréal Expos can win.

Anyone knows baseball is purely a game of staying healthy. Anaheim
was healthy last year, this year not. NYY is pretty healthy, Atlanta,
and other contenders. Look back for 10 years and more, you can't find
one playoff team that had 3 regulars out for 70+ games or 5 regulars
out for 30+ games like the Expos have had year after year. Guerrero,
Armas, O. Hernandez, Day, Barrett and so on (forget Tatis) all healthy
for a minimum of 140 games and we're in first place.

Well, a trade is now, of course, possible. But it's routine to put
players through waivers at this point in the season. It doesn't
neccesarily mean anything.
