....that Rincon gets the win for tonight's game and not Hernandez.

If I was a Twins fan this season, I'd be grateful ANYBODY got a win.

Cherish each one like a rare gem.

4 earned runs in 6 innings..era of 6. I don't feel too bad for him.
Rincon has actually been pitching better along with Neshek. Twins are
now at .500 and if they keep this up, Carl may never spend money on high
priced talent again. It really wouldn't surprise me to see the central
division teams beat each other up and the team winning the division
having a very mediocre record.

Well, if nobody is going to get over 90 wins, and the Twins are going
to be about (could that be a couple of games over--say 85 games?) .
500, then the Twins will find themselves in the race to the very end.
If those really are the numbers then you would have to say the Twins
have about as good a shot as anyone to win the division. No?

Hernandez is trending towards his career averages. He's basically
playing with fire. When the Rays catcher Shawn Riggans waited on his
"fastball" and launched it deep into the LF seats in the Dome I was
astounded.

Hernandez will be the Ramon Ortiz of 2008. Last year Ortiz wowed us in
April. Like Hernandez is now, he was also 3-1 after April 22nd last
year, with a 2.48 ERA. But batter made adjustments to him and by May
26th his ERA was 5.75.

True. This was probably not the game he deserved the win for, but he
has been pitching pretty well and pretty deep into games this season
for the Twins. I really wanted to see him get that win last night.

And that's about where they'll stay for the season, IMO.

Well, why should he start now? Wink

That looks like where it's going. Chicago and Detroit (and maybe
Cleveland) will fight it out for the division, and none of them will
be looking at 90+ wins.

Oh, I do.

As a Tigers fan, you probably should do the same with the Tigers
pitching staff and hot-and-cold offense this season.

Anything could happen...especially if the Twins pitching continues
playing as well as they have, and the defense continues to find
ways to keep games tight.

It sure would be nice if Gomez could find a way to get a few hits.
He's so damn aggressive at the plate that he's swinging at anything.
Maybe moving him down in the order might be worth trying soon?
