Q: Who has won 2 games in a single day since 1950, 1 a save and 1 win
A: Tom Seaver with the White Sox in the early 80's

Details: the white sox were tied at the end of curfew after 20-21
innings and were out pitchers. He was to start the next game. Seaver
pitched 1 inning and allowed no runs and the sox scored. He then
started the next game.He pitched then 8-9 innings and won the second
game. Carlton Fisk was the catcher.

Has anyone else done this? Please email.

Thankx,

Wendell

The first name that came to my head was Wilbur Wood, also of the ChiSox.

Didn't Jerry Reuss do that with the Dodgers once?

Thinking outside the box with relievers - I'm sure this strategy has been implemented sometime in baseball history, but I sure have never heard of it, much less seen it: Anyone ever heard of a manager swapping relievers with position players in order to keep them available for upcoming platoo...

7 Wins - I just noticed that nobody on the Detroit staff has won their 7th game yet. There are three pitchers with 6 so it's likely someone will do it, but I was wondering what the record is for fewest wins by a team leader in a non-shortened season. Thanks.

5 pitchers with 10 wins - How often or how many times has a team had 5 (or more) pitchers with 10+ wins in a season? Arroyo today joined Martinez-Schilling-Wakefield-Lowe with his 10th win.

400 wins for Clemens? - Roger Clemens is 42 years old and has 328 wins as of the end of this season. He's still one of the best pitchers in the league - only 6 starters in the NL had an ERA under 3.00, and Clemens was one of them. And he's still pitching a lot of innings despit...

Steroid man wins MVP - Well, now isn't that just special?. Bud Selig must be so proud.
