Anyone ever wait 'til the very end on SP's?

It seems that, at least in our 14-team 5x5 H2H auction league, you can pick
up quality starting pitching at the very end for very cheap.

For example, our league is a $230 unit/23 player auction where 8 players
need to be pitchers (start 6 of 8 each week), and usually teams will start
5-7 starting pitchers per week.

Had a team waited until the very end to acquire six SP's for the last 6
units, or $1 apiece, he/she could have gotten:

Tom Glavine
Chien-Ming Wang
Steve Trachsel
Kenny Rogers
Bronson Arroyo
Adam Harang
Tomo Ohka
Vincente Padilla
Erik Bedard
Mike Maroth
Josh Johnson

....has anyone waited until the very end to draft starters and, if so, how
successful do you think that strategy was?
