would you trade wilkerson and day/ohka/armas for vernon? What else would you
include inthe deal to make it fair if not?

Considering that Wilkerson is already a superior player to Wells, I don't think
that throwing in *anyone* would make it more fair.

Wilkerson hits for more power, has a far superior on-base percentage and has
proven to be more durable. Wilkerson can play anywhere in the outfield and has.
Wells' only advantage is that he is two years younger.

Most similar players by age to Vernon Wells:
23) Roy Sievers
24) Enos Slaughter
25) Sam Chapman

Most similar players by age to Brad Wilkerson:
25) Paul O'Neill
26) Jeffrey Hammonds
27) Ivan Calderon

I might consider making a straight-up trade based on contract status but in
terms of talent Wilkerson is clearly the better player.

not trying to pick a "fight" at all. I am a baseball fan trying to talk
baseball with other baseball fans.

clealy superior? since when. If you want to throw out wells 03 season, can i
throw out wilkerson's 04 season?

is wlkerson going to score 100 runs, drive in 100 and hit 300 next year?
Maybe, I think wells will out perform him on O next year.

--So you are saying that in 26 less games, wells had the same number of hits
and triples, five less doubles, 9 less hr, same rbi, 32 less total bases? U
left out batting average for some reason. Why don't you post wells 03 vs
wilkerson's 03? you know

wilkerson: 78r 135hits 19hr 77rbi 268/380/464

wells: 118r 215hits, 33hr 117rbi, 317/359/550

"clearly better" my ass

Wells was a one-year wonder, by 2006 he'll have played himself into
obscurity...translation: he will be a Tampa Bay Devil Ray!
