When is the last time a player doubled (or more than doubled) any previous
single-season MLB record?

Name a single-season stat that has only had one single-season record holder
ever since it became an official stat. (Example: If you said "HRs", you would
be incorrect since the single-season HR record has been broken a few times).

Sacrifice Flies, Gil Hodges.

I got to a lot of old-timers' games and I haven't lost a thing. I sit in the
bullpen and let people throw things at me. Just like old times. - Bob Uecker

Ted Williams has held the single season OBP record ever since it became an
official stat. Nobody will _ever_ break Williams' record. How could
anyone? Do you know how good someone would have to be?

I watched "Field of Dreams" again this morning. How did
Moonlight/Archie Graham know who Gil Hodges was? Smile
