Archived from groups: rec>sport>baseball>fantasy (more info?)

I just got a trade offer in my 9X9 head to head league ( we score, BA(x2),
F%, HR(x2), KO, OBP, R(x2), RBI(x2), SB-CS(x2)SLG% for batters and
BAA,BS,ERA(x2)HRA,INN,K's (x2) L, W(x2), S(x2), WHIP) keep in mind the X2
catagories count for 2 games instead of one (i.e. I win BA and my opponent
wins KO's and OBP, we are tied because BA counts for 2)

I got offered a trade me giving SP: R. Oswalt and getting LF: Carl Crawford
and SP: John patterson. (also in our leage the outfield is divided by LF, CF
and RF not all lumped together). wth my lineup below should I do the trade?
I think I'm pretty balanced so far pitching vs hiting, crawford would
obviously tip the balance tword my offense, but am I giving up too much in
oswalt? (also still not sure if clemens is comming back, if he does, I
probably would do this). sorry for the long post, shoudl I do this? or mabye
counter offer? suggestions? thanks a lot

my line up is:

C:Varitek
1b:Delgado
2b: B. Roberts
3b: A. Ramirez
SS: M. Young
LF: R. Winn
CF: J. Damon
RF: B. Giles
DH: Barry bonds

SP: C. CArpenter
SP: B. Colon
SP: F. Garcia
SP: Smoltz
RP: B. lide

bench
P. konerko
P. Placido
B. Mueller
D. Eckstein
M. Alou
R. Clemens (if he plays, he'll obviously be a starter)
J. Sosa
B. Wagner

minors:
K. Youkilis
B.J. Upton

I've never done a H2H league, so take this with a grain of salt,
but...you're giving up a top 3 starter for a top 3 OF, and getting a decent
pitcher in Patterson who plays in a friendly park. I'd do it. Crawford
should play a couple of OF spots, but he is an upgrade over Winn.

well crawford is only eligable in LF in my league (currently) my other
though is oswalt isn't going to get much run support (who does in houston?)
so I'm not sure how many wins he's going to get. also pattersons numbers
from last year arn't TOO far off of oswalts (not counting wins). he had more
strikeouts and a lower WHIP than oswalt as well.plus the Nats should be
better this year (hopefully 10-15 wins) so I think I'm gonna do this deal.
also, one kid in this leage seems to be very hot to trot over crawford...
and could possibly use him as trade bait. we shall see, thanks for the reply
