Hello all,
I'm in a 5x5 no-keeper league. I've been offered Mike Mussina and
Mike MacDougal for Javy Lopez and Vladimir Guerrero. Normally I'd
turn it down, but I'm worried about Vlad. The deal would nicely round
out my starting pitching staff (Randy, Hudson, K-Brown, Morris and
Clemens are my normal rotation) and closers (Benitez, Foulke, and Mike
Williams, who has been awful).
I have Pudge at catcher, and am relatively close to my limit anyway
(60 games left). However, my outfield is not so great -- I have Sosa,
Berkman, and a platoon of Eric Byrnes and Moises Alou. Vlad would
certainly help if he came back healthy, but I'm dubious that he'll be
well. Advice?
Thanks in advance,
Andrew >> Stay informed about: Yet another trade question |

I'd make the trade as quick as I could. Once a player goes down with a back
injury, he rarely is ever the same again....Mattingly is a prime example of
this. As long as you are covered at C and OF.....you have nothing to lose. >> Stay informed about: Yet another trade question |

Tough call. I think it's a great offer, given that Vlad's return is so
uncertain. Unfortunately, you don't really need another starter.
I'd say make the deal, then as soon as Randy comes back, try to trade Randy
or Kevin Brown for a stud OF who isn't hurt (Edmonds, Bonds, etc.)

Take this deal now. Vlad won't be back until August and you don't know if he
will be back to form. Plus, you have great catcher stats already, so why
bother with Javy?
Take it now....
