They are what they are. An average team playing out the
season, without any sence of urgency. Satisfied and
contented.

It's not all on Jones. Look how many men the Tigers left on Base!

Problem is, they're not an "average team." No one seems to know what their
problem is though.
Well, part of the problem is that they can't make up all the losses in April
and May.

Most need to go on the Dr Phil Show. They ARE a bunch of
contented fat cats that have allowed their egos to overide
their natural desires. Age is also a factor and sad to say
if we had played more Thomases, Hollimons, Joyces, etc. we
wouldn't have had as many losses in April and May. I would
try and balance this team with some younger players who have
bigger desires than most of this current bunch. This lineup
seems to not be hungry enough. Just my opinion.

Exactly. At least someone here "gets it".

And Jones blowing the save is no surprise at all.

So because Jones says so means its true? Zumaya giving up 2 earlier in the
game didn't mean anything?

The reality is Robertson allowed more runs than Jones...Zumaya didn't help
either. It amazes me sometimes how far you'll go to ensure Jones is your
whipping boy when there are other parts of the game that didn't go so well.

It either was a save situation or it wasn't.

It was....and Jones blew it.

6 1/2 out instead of 4 1/2 out. What does that tell you?? That Friday nights
game was a huge loss?? NO!! It tells you that the Tigers lost their chance
at playing in October in April and May. Hell, if they had just split the
first 12, instead of going 2-10, they'd only be 2 1/2 out after the loss on
Friday (even less if they had done better than 1-5 vs the W Sox in April!).

Bill, the Jones apologists will *never* get it.

Looks like Verlander "allowed more runs than Jones" tonight, too.

LOL
