I am beginning to wonder if the Padres are not shell shocked in
losing to the Rockies In the one game play off where Holliday still
has not touched home.....I also wonder when the Padres will make that
big trade to get a power hitter that may help us. the batters have no
protection what so ever in that line up. Trader Jack would have pulled
off a trade by now.

Who would you trade?

And would another team actually want what you have to offer?

Why not? If the dipshits at XX 1090 can blame our current troubles on
the 22 inning game and Petco dimensions, then the one game loss to the
Rockies is sure to figure in somehow.

I could possibly see them being shell shocked because of the Rockie
game, but they started out decent at 8-6. At 8-6 the lost then had
the 22 inning game. Since then they have been absolutely horrid. I
could see the 22 inning game causing a 2 or 3 game set back but they
have only won 4 games since. My theory is that they just aren't very
good and they got old fast by adding old players.

We need an entire new outfield. We need a true leadoff hitter and we
need to let our young guys play just like the Diamond Backs have done
and have been successful at. Who knows if they can play until they
play. If McAnulty wasn't out of options then he had no business
staying up with how hot Headley was in spring training. It's time to
let Headley and Gerut come up and play. As a side note, I wouldn't
have minded seeing Edgar Gonzalez get a spot. He was stroking it in
the spring as well.

The Petco argument is old and tired like four years ago. There's nothing
about the dimensions of the park that prevent you from hitting a goddamn
single up the middle with a man on base.

Pressure my ass. A hitter should never feel under pressure. If it's an
important situation, the pressure is all on the pitcher. A hitter who feels
pressure is just trying to get himself out, and he'll usually succeed.

If you ever read the writings of Ted Williams or Tony Gwynn, that's a major
theme with both of them.

They aren`t shell-shocked. They have a medical condition called :
"NotgivingaRatsAss!" and it`s cause is collectively walking on their
elbows with their heads up their Asses on the way to the bank! None
have earned a paycheck ALL year. Screw `em!

Yes, I`m disgusted!

Trader Jack usually traded away more than he got back.

The Padres don't have anyone to trade that wouldn't gut an important
part of the team.
We don't have any big players to trade except for Gonzalez and Peavy
(and maybe Bell and Young).

There is no quick solution to this. We need the management to invest
in prospects.

Exactly. Our hitting with RISP is horrid. Our overall BA is terrible.
And the dimensions of the park doesn't stop us from
hitting doubles.
