Post subject: Another stupid question ...

I was watching the Red Sox game the other day and while David Ortiz
was up, I was thinking. There was a run check on the first base
runner. What if he was caught out? What happens to Ortiz' at bat? Is
it now over despite his not completing? Or will he start fresh next
inning? I know, stupid question, but I was just curious. LoL Thank you!

If a runner makes the third out before the batter completes his plate
appearance, that batter leads off the next inning.
