The starting rotation became less cloudy today when it was revealed that
Chris Cappuano's ailing elbow needs a second 'Tommy John' surgical
procedure. After Sheet and Soupcan, who are the 3, 4, and 5 pitchers?

One month into the season, here's what I see:
1. Sheets
2. Soup
3. Gallardo
4. Villanueva
5. Bush

Vargus is ugly but I gotta say, he wins games..just gives you a heart attack
every inning by putting guys on base.

I like

1-Sheets
2-Soupon
3-Gallardo
4-Bush
5-Vargus

Keep Carlos in the bullpen as a long man as we can probably expect some
short outings early in the year. If it's June and Bush or Vargus are not
getting it done..Give Carlos his shot.
Then again, I think if Carlos started every 5th day I wouldn't be suprised
to see him nail down 12-15 wins..he's my pick for a breakout year if given
the shot in the rotation!

5. Parra, although he is having a rough outing today. Gotta have a lefty.

I like Parra, too.... but after being amazing his first 4 times out, he's
been lit up his last two times out. I like him better than Bush, but it's
gotta be Bush's spot to lose until Parra pulls it together. Maybe three or
four starts in the minors would straighten him out, get him back on track.

I was kinda surprised they let him go by just outright waiving him, but if
nobody wanted to claim him off waivers for a mere 20K, then that says a lot.
He wasn't the worst pitcher, but his constant inability to throw strikes was
almost as frustrating as watching Doug Davis pitch. Strike that..... there's
nothing as frustrating as watching DD pitch! Nothing!!

Who's coming out of the rotation when Gallardo comes back in a few weeks?

I wouldn't mind seeing Parra go down when Gallardo comes back..give him some
innings in the minors after starting the year in the bigs

I dunno. Jeff Suppan is getting there.

He'll get innings in the rotation and he is the only southpaw left.

I thought they way overpaid when they signed Soupcan. He's done nothing to
justify anywhere close to that kind of money.
