Other then two mistakes by Derrick Lowe and an error by Raffe,
overthrowing first base, the Dodgers played a pretty good
game.
Had Raffe not overthrown first base, the game would have
remained tied, even with the two home runs by the Phils and
the
outcome might have been different. It's hard to say though.

I was hoping the Dodgers might come in and take home field
advantage away from the Phils. There is always game #2. The
Phils pitching really drops off now after Hammel. Billingsly
should be able to keep their hitters contained. Lidge was
awesome and the look on the Dodger's faces showed it.

The L.A. Times picked the Dodgers in 5 games. Kevin Kennedy
picked them in 6 games. It is imperrative that they win game
#2 tomorrow. It will be so much tougher to come back to L.A.
down two games. Luckily, they play games #3, #4, and #5 back
here in L.A. I believe the Phils won the 4 regular season
games played there and the Dodger won the 4 regular season
games played here. But we all know that the regular season
means so little in the playoffs.

I was wondering, why in the 6th inning when Derrick Lowe
looked so disoriented, didn't Rick Hunnycutt make a trip out
to the mound to talk with Lowe and settle him down. It looked
as if there was some kind of miscommunication between Lowe and
Russell Martin.... as if there was a problem with the signals
being exchanged between them. Perhaps Torre may have left Lowe
in a little too long. That's for greater minds then mine.

Game #2 - 1 pm Friday Oct 10th - should be a good one.

Mark

I agree they played well. One error cost them a chance to go into extras.
Then again, three feet turns Manny's double into an HR. No excuses. It was
just that close.

Yeah Billingsley really kept their hitters contained. You talk about
someone who looked like he was scared shitless.
