last sat night i was listen to the sox pre-game radio show.
they threw out one of the dumbest stats ever, trot with his homerun the
previous game had set the redsox alltime HR record for players who threw
left handed.
stop the stat madness. it has finally drifted in to the realm of the absurd.

Who held the record previously? I need to know.

Well, if they were going to throw out a rediculous stat like that, at least
they could've gotten it right! Nixon currently has 123 career HR's and Fred
Lynn had 124 career HR with the Sox. Any day now.

Troy O'Leary. I cheated by noticing his name when I checked on Lynn's HR's

Don't forget, two of those HR's were hit when Lynn had the ill-fated idea
that he wanted to become baseball's first switch-throwing fielder.

Odd stat considering... - Arroyo has thrown 1 fewer pitch than Cabrera through 4 innings even though he has faced 4 more batters. Not being able to see the game, that indicates to me that Arroyo's pitches aren't fooling the O's and they are teeing off on them as soon as they....

Stat of the day: - In 31 games at home this season, Youk is hitting .376/.486/.573/1.059. Guess he really loves his house.

Stat line - What does this stat line represent? G - 143 AB - 551 R - 80 H - 164 2B - 33 3B - 3 HR - 18 RBI - 71 BB - 36 SB - 4 AVG - .298 OBP - .347 SLG - .466

Amazing stat - 11% of all Boston wins this season have come off of walk-off hits. That's one walk-off every week and a half on average this season.
