| i think all the speedsters were named in previous posts about the
fastest baseball player, so how about the slowest? this is even more
wide open as there were/are so many of them.
could we start with mo vaughn?

Well, it's sort of cheating, but I'd vote for Eddie Gaedel. >> Stay informed about: slowest baseball player |

Mike LaValliere. 5 steals in 20 tries. I'm surprised he only weighed 190
pounds - he was a pretty rotund guy.
Rico Carty?

Kent Hrbek. In his younger days, he was an impressive fielder. However, in
his later days, he had trouble getting to first to field a throw from the
other side of the diamond.
Mike Scioscia. Tom LaSorda once said something about Scioscia getting the
purple light when he was on base.....meaning, if you take off, I'll kill ya. >> Stay informed about: slowest baseball player |

Ron Hassey. 14 steals in 14 years (career high of three in 1982.) He's my
pick this side of Cecil Fielder.

From everything I've read, Ernie Lombardi retired that trophy a long time
ago.

Hey, he had a stolen base last year, thank you very much.

'cause after all, he'd had a ruptured hamstring tendon; so he was down
from 4 the year before... >> Stay informed about: slowest baseball player |

Slightly OT, but the slowest runners that are back-to-back in the lineup have
got to be Edgar Martinez and John Olerud.
Among active players, I'd have to go with Edgar.

Kruk was a very fast player when he first arrived in the Majors. I
know he had a "20-20" season, or at least came close.... >> Stay informed about: slowest baseball player |

Of course, you can say that about a lot of guys who end up being... less
than fast. Hell, Pete Rose hit 30 triples in the minors one year.
