Why bother holding onto Pierre, Willis and Cabrara now? Just trade them all
for the best and the brightest in the minor leagues. All those three are
going to be thinking about is when they can get the hell out of Florida

Pierre will be traded. Willis and Cabrera are not eligible for
arbitration, and are working cheap. Willis at least gives them a shot
to win every fifth day. Cabrera is part of the future. If they move
to a city where they will be supported, he'll still be with the team
and will get a nice contract.

i agree, however, even though these owners are among themost unethical
and dont deserve any fans, these owners know a good deal when the see
it, these guys are studs and are not getting paid anything near what
they are worth....hopefully the new owner will appreciate these guys
and will be more willing to buy the team ... our only hope is to stop
supporting the marlins completely and get these new owners to sell the
team to competent business people that understands how to market to
south florida....

tv rating are strong,,,, also there is good, not great attendance when
in the playoff and preceding push. The best way to market is determine
what the fans want. I think huzinga had it nailed. Build a
retractable doom, stadium at the corner of broward and 95. Use private
money, dont expect a handout and field a competitve team. The fans will
come as they have for the dolphins and to a lesser extent for the heat
and panthers..... miami is not ny, philly, chicago or boston when it
comes to sports towns, but they can be better than atlanta, houston,
memphis, tampa, new orleans and other warm weather cities... dont
expect any southern city to be like the northeast or midwest....

When has South Florida ever supported the Marlins other than when they hear
on the radio that there's a playoff game.....then they show up and all of a
sudden are "fans". And how do you market South Florida? Miami is a poor
sports town.
