To what end? Gonzo's been on a hot streak since the All-Star break and
Shawn Green's not going to finish the season on the bench. Conor Jackson
hit a slump for awhile, but he's apparently coming out of it.

There's something to be said for giving a young player an opportunity to
get a taste of life in the big leagues, but there's also something to be
said for not rushing things.

The D-Backs don't expect to win the World Series this season, which is why
they didn't make any deadline deals. If they deal somebody during the
waiver period, it'll likely be somebody like Shawn Green, and that move
will be made to free up a starting slot for a guy like Quentin, as well as
free up some salary.

IOW, they're not going to rush Quentin because their focus is on next
year. Drew's only playing every day because there are no other shortstops
since Counsell got hurt.
