1 new name, nice uniforms
2 signed closer Troy Percival
3 signed set up man Dan Wheeler
4 signed the power hitting 1B Pena to a long term deal
5 signed Gomes the DH (or starting RF if Baldelli can't go)
6 signed C Floyd as lefty DH/PH/OF/IB/can he play C or 3B?
7 signed the ace pitcher Kazmir
8 traded trouble CF Dukes for pitching
9 traded likely trouble RF Delmon Young for more pitching
10 plans for a new stadium which could actually materialize IF the owners
put money into the team and it can become a small market winner (Minnesota
is the model). Depends on the INF and pitching. If Longoria and
Bartlett/Aybar and maybe even Brignac can join Pena and Iwamura

Stu,

I've said some bad stuff about you and the kiddie GM staff in the past. But
I am pleasantly surprised that things are starting to look better in
Tampa/St Pete. I pumped to see some Spring Training games and to go to the
Trop. 'm even looking into buying season tickets again and sharing them to
split the cost (sorry I can't go to 81 games but 40 games works for me)

I wish the Tampa Bay Rays some Good Luck this year. I hope they win more
games, a lot more games than the previous years. You guys need it for a
change. Its about time!

good move

a good move.

not impressed with this move. Gomes for Young?

|6 signed C Floyd as lefty DH/PH/OF/IB/can he play C or 3B?

At this point of his carreer he is mostly a DH/1B.

|7 signed the ace pitcher Kazmir

Okay but he signed for only one year.

|8 traded trouble CF Dukes for pitching

That may end up being a good move.

|9 traded likely trouble RF Delmon Young for more pitching

This may be a bad move.

Well if the citizens of St Pete want to go in debt for about $300
million for a pathetic stadium and horrific parking issues, so be it.

DOn't expect $8 tickets with that new stadium either. My guess the
cheapest will be $15 to $20. Figure 50% to 100% increase in ticket
prices. Stu will want to get his $150 million back as suun as
possible. Ticket prices and consession will rise dramatically.
