When no one in the organization is saying or doing anything to make trouble,
when no one (at or soon to =be= at the major league level, at least) is
doing anything noteworthy (or notably awful) on the field, when nothing
particularly interesting with respect to player movement appears to be
brewing, and when you have only eight seasons (including this one) of team
history to look back and discuss....

.....well, what =do= you discuss?

Closest thing to a controversy recently hereabouts has been the Brandon Webb
ASG snub. But, once the cosmic unfairness of that's been pointed out, what's
to discuss?

It'd be different if there were a hotshot CF ready to do battle with Junior
Cruz, or if Shawn Green were still underperforming enough to give serious
thought to Carlos Quentin. As it stands, though, it seems Melvin is doing
about as well as he can with what he has and, given what trade options
appear to be out there, there's not really much likelihood of what he has
getting substantially better anytime soon. (Unless Joey G's thinking about
dumping one of his young hotshots for ten weeks of Kenny Lofton or something
equally horrifying....)

So, what's to discuss?
