| When the bums need help for the playoff run, they got Ramirez.
When the Dbacks need help for the playoff run, they got Dunn.
So who did the Giants get when they needed help for the stretch run? Shea
Hillenbrand. Yeah, commitment to winning!

That's a committment to mediocrity or something akin to it. Uh, what
stretch run? >> Stay informed about: That pisses me off |

And what makes you think Dunn will do much of anything for them?
Comparing him to Byrnsie . ..it's like a race horse next to a rhino.

Well, he's one of the best hitters in the league, so that usually is a
good thing to have.

Can't really see Dunn as a race horse, but he's an All Star level
player, and Byrnes is a 4th OFer. I think I'd rather have the All Star.
To the original point: once upon a time, Sabean was an aggressive
problem-solver who would have gone out and got a Dunn, or a Manny. But
that was in the 1990s.

Hmm... the best hitter he got for a stretch run that I can remember was
Burks, and he turned out way better than most people expected. Other than
that, I guess the 1997 trade looked good at the time, but still nothing
close to Ramirez and Dunn. >> Stay informed about: That pisses me off |

Hmm... let's see, at the time of the trade Dunn has 32 HRs and a .901 OPS,
easily leading the entire Dbacks team in both categories. >> Stay informed about: That pisses me off |
