parking at Greenbelt

HI,

My son and I are trying to hit as many mlb ballparks as we can this
summer, and we are trying to see the new nationals ballpark on the
April vacation week. I was thinking of driving down and staying
overnight near the Greenbelt metro station, and then taking the metro
to the game. Is Greenbelt a safe place to leave a car ? Does this
sound like an ok plan ? Will I even be able to find a parking space at
Greenbelt late weekday morning ?

I am also open to any better ideas anyone might come up with !

Consider staying downtown instead. You will be closer to the park and
around a lot of the interesting DC attractions.
