Now I see why you need the Fox morons to tell you what you think. That's a
5.06 ERA. See, doofus, when you say .509 average, you're inplying that
oposition hitters have a .509 batting average against them.

AND, you still don't see the big picture. The Tronto Blue Jays, with the
second best ERA in the league, and DEAD LAST in their division. The LA
Angels of A, with the 12th worst ERA in the league (and second worst in
their division) are a first place team. Since you ""think"" you know so
much, please do explain.

The Blue Jays have terrible offense, the Angels have pretty good
offense. The Tigers have a pretty medicore offense (and defense) so
far this season...so they haven't been able to compensate for the
pitchings weaknesses.
The Tigers have the combination of TERRIBLE pitching, hot-and-cold
offense, and a defense that's showing it's age. Combine that all
together and you can see why the Tigers have't been able to
reach .500 this season, and remain in the cellar of the ALC.
That is the "big picture" for the Tigers.

Should also mention that the Angels have a pretty good defense, with
a very good fielding percentage, and very few errors. That helps to
win games as well.
Of course, the Angels have lost four in a row now and are no longer a
first place team. Bad pitching catches up to a team eventually.

you didn't sat "ERA." you said "average," which, to those who have a
freakin' clue, means something different, then you compounded your own
confusion by misplacing the decimal point. You will, I have no doubt,
continue to blame the reader for your stupidity though.

NO!! Thanks for playing!!
That ""mediocre offense"" has scored more runs than the Angels, Twinkies, W
Sox and Roylas. More, in fact, than any team other than the A's and R Sox!
Try again!!!

That's the Tigers problem. They score solo runs, but can't score with
men on base, when it really counts. The Tigers can't play fundamental
baseball, they are a home run hitting machine but can't play small
ball to win games if/when they need to.

I hope so, I like the Angels and have for a few years now.
And, unlike the Tigers, the Angels have some quality starters
on board and a pretty decent closer...I don't think their pitching
woes will continue.

NO!! Thanks for playing!! THIRD in the league in total runs, so you're logic
doesn't mesh. In fact, quite the opposite is true. If you look again, you'll
see you even contradict yourself:
"They score solo runs, but can't score with men on base"
and
"They score solo runs, but can't score with men on base."
In FACT, they score in bunches, and then have trouble adding on late in the
game. Of corse, one cannot over look FIVE shutouts, and 19 losses when
scoring 4 or less.
