It was a great catch, but a notch or two below Matthews' IMO. Didn't
have to climb the fence, and didn't add the pirhouette in midair for
extra style points. >> Stay informed about: that met's outfielder just made ... |

Jaros has never made any secret of his cheering for St. Louis teams,
actually. Rams, Cardinals, etc.
I'll grant you that he often "roots" for teams that are doing well at a
given point, but you're off the mark on this one, Cary. >> Stay informed about: that met's outfielder just made ... |

Willie's catch was Willie's catch because it was in a WS game in New
York captured on TV. My grandfather saw him play in person dozens of
times and told me that he made many more amazing catches that were
never captured on film.
Chavez's catch was better.

Point taken. But now that he's a Cards fan, he and all the other fans
of the Cardinals are officially The Enemy for the next week and a
half.

Dude, you shouldn't take that attitude. After all, it's well-known
that there is no possible way the Cardinals anemic offense can stand
up to the phenomenal Detroit pitching staff. Not to mention that our
team is so old that they'll all be packing on the ice by the 4th
inning of every game.
