They were saying that Bruce Levine was reporting "to expect massive changes
in the Cubs bullpen over the next couple of day." and they were playing this
bascially every 20 mins.

Did they ever actually name what the changes might be?

Hawkins didnt exactly help the clubhouse chemistry with his "no press"
actions and his psychotic blowups against Houston.

Either media hype (as Al would be intimate about, BTW; I wanted to see more
of the Chinese Dragon Dancers this morning, and you needed a wide camera
angle, LOL)

OR...

It is a multi-player trade.

What could it be?

Last year essentially Hawkins and Farnsworth were ineffective (in his new
role) or as in the Farns, disruptive to the team and himself.

The other components were/are, Remlinger, (who wants a dinged expensive
lefty specialist?) Borowski, (who wants a dinged recovering former
journeymen who had one year of essential use?), Dempster (he is a recovering
retread), and then there is the farm hands, secondary trade bait but mix and
match them as who has this week's hot hand, Leicester, Wuertz, Wellemeyer.

My guess is if it is multi-player it is Hawkins and Farnsworth plus a AAA
for a proven closer.

Hawkins was effective when pitching in the role he was signed to play. When
trying a different role he failed miserably. Why complain about a perfectly
good screwdriver functioning as a lousy hammer? If you want to criticize
him for having skills that are too limited, fine, but he'd failed as a
closer before so we shouldn't be surprised.
