It is becoming apparent that the the Rangers are in total disarray. The
pitching is in shambles, the hitting is the worst in the league, and of
all thing the defense is a total disaster. This comes from a "would be
manager" that had the reputation as being a fanatic about team defense
and manufactoring runs. The truth is Washington is a great guy but he
is in over his head.He has never been much more than a third base
coach and for Tom Hicks and Jon Boy to expect him to be the next
Sparky Anderson is a reach.I had thought that the Rangers might jump
out to a quick start and cool off but they broke from the gate with a
whimper and its only gotten worse.Washington is not the answer any
more than Showalter was.

You've got to believe in your team.
Look what happened to Coco Cordero.
The fans stopped believing in him, and he screwed up.
Now his new fans are believing in him, and he is doing great.

Rangers observations:
1. While it sucks that Gange is back on the DL, it was really cool to
actually finally see the Eric Gagne show to start a save situation at home.
2. While it sucked when he had to come out, it was almost as cool to
realize, hey, here comes another proven closer, who came in and finished it
out.

Bad thoughts, that Washington will not make it (though not all his fault):
1. Who is the Rangers best hitter this year? In all categories, Kinsler.
Where did he bat Sunday? 7th? WTF?? While I like Cat, he is below .200,
Lofton may now be above .200, Young (who does get a pass in my book) below
..200, Tex barely .200, Sosa barely .150 - all these AHEAD of your best
hitter.
2. Cruz only has a few RBIs, though he has one of the better averages.
Because he also is buried at the bottom of the lineup.
3. Great pickup of McCarthy. I hope for his and the Rangers sake he has
been injured, otherwise he just plain sucks.
4. How did Wright do? How did Loe do? Too bad we had no indication or
predictor of that. Oh wait, how did each do in spring training? I don't
care if Wright had to start for the Rangers to keep him. Buh bye.
5. Why is Sosa still in the lineup? Ooooooooh, he is near the team lead at
4 freaking home runs. Terrible. Cut him and move on. I get sick whenever
I hear him get cheered at home. Rule it as a failed experiment and move on.
6. How many times have Rangers runners been picked off - not caught
stealing? Bet already it is close to last year's totals.

All the local media ranted and raved about Washington before the season
started? Why, because he was a self-proclaimed baseball man? In every
interview, he said that they would play good defense, run in good
situations, and pitch. What manager would not say this? Not that Buck
should have been back, but I never recall hearing him say "screw defense,
pitching, and smart baserunning." Washington has been nothing but clichés
and bragging, though he has no skins on the wall. They are so dame lucky to
only be 2 under .500 right now. Even at that pace, it is a 90 loss year,
which is where they will end up unless Wash wises up - or is changed out.
