Honestly, how many games did they sell out this season? I been to
Rockies games, it's a joke the fan base they have. Now all of a
sudden Jeremiah Johnson is riding down from the mountains with a
Rockies jersey on. Pathetic

Trivia question for you. What team holds the MLB season season attendance
record? Here's a hint: The bandwagon is filling back up, but the fan base
has always been there for the Rockies. Since day 1.

How many games did the Rockies sell out this season, that was my
question?

People care more about the Broncos or hockey in Colorado, it;s a
pathetic baseball town.

Maybe they're waiting for some success.

Just like 80% of Red Sox "fans" did.

How many games have the Red Sox not sold out, in their 33,000 seat stadium
of the late 90s and early 21st century?

Stop trying to bag on every team or geographical area thereof that your team
plays. You're all starting to sound like whiny bitches.

Didn't think it was necessary, but since you bring up "facts"....and thanks
to your finding of the attendance figures, I'll add them up

1993 - 2003, years neither team played in the World Series (that's 11
separate seasons)

Red Sox attendance total: 26,249,938

Rockies attendance total: 37,352,580

Don't try and argue with me that Fenway has less capacity. Its not like the
Red Sox sold out every game back then.

Coors field has seating capacity in excess of 50,000. What difference does
it make?

In the past 3 years Colorado has experienced a steep downward trend in
attendance. But if you had actually bothered to look at those stats, my
dear friend Don, you might notice an attendance average in the mid 40,000s
from the first year of their existence through 2001.

Now my question to you and Chuck is,
How on Earth did this "pathetic" baseball town support an expansion team
with attendance figures over 3 million for the each of its first nine years?

My post was made to refute the notion that Red Sox fans are guilty of NOT
supporting this team...through thick AND thin. I'm not here to bash Rockies
fans at all. In fact I'm ONLY here because of the attacks on Red Sox fans
by folks who probably don't have the first inkling of Red Sox history. Not
to take cheap shots, but the Rockies history isn't as old as my two college
age daughters. You're slamming a fan base that sell out routinely even
though winning one championship in 89 years. BTW...how could we sell more
tickets when your facility holds around 16,000 more people? You ARE
comparing apples to oranges.

All I'll say to finish is this...Fenway attendance (much smaller park) was
2,970,755...36,676 per game.

Colorado attendance, by comparison was 2,376,250...28,979 per game. Your
team ranked 11th of 16 in attendance. In a park that holds 50K+

Who is jumping on bandwagons?

Red Sox fans, from the look of the attendance figures. But theres nothing
unusual about attendance increases attributed to success.

I didn't mean to bash Red Sox fan loyalty, if that's how it was interpreted.
I think we were both talking about two different things

btw I do like the makeup of their club, but I'm not a Rockies fan.

It doesn't matter why so many people want the Rockies to win. And it
might not be the case that so many DO want them to win - they just
want those nasty Red Sox to lose.

go back to the bosox group, you troll......

I honestly don't know who started this but many, if not most of us in the
Sox group are already and still there. Let me help you to shove off. I
just snipped our group from the address. See ya! You will now be in my KF
if you choose to come visit. Dope.

Cross-posted. If my team (the Sox) were not the opponent, I might be
rooting for them as well. It's a great Cinderalla story. Or *might* be!
