It's never fun to see your favorite team on the wrong side of a
no-hitter, but they are certainly a thing of beauty to behold.

At least until Joe Mauer takes it away from him. Wink

Joe Mauer is officially on a tear... if he's going to get on base 2-3 times
per game, I like Morneau's chances of keeping the Twins offense
respectable...

I wouldn't call this attempt beautiful.

Yes, ever since I questioned whether or not we should be worried about
him, he's been awesome. (No applause, just send me money).

Now try to imagine if "Exciting Boy" would get on base more often
ahead of Mauer. Exciting Boy could bunt for a basehit then steal
second. Exciting Boy, The Fastest Runner In MLB History would score
from second on Mauer's dinky basehits. Mauer would have 100 RBI's if
Exciting Boy had a respectable OBA. And the burden of RBI wouldn't
always be on Morneau.

OK, maybe "a thing of beauty" was the wrong term to apply to
Floyd last night. But it's always a rare treat to see a guy throwing
a no hitter into the 9th.
