The Cubs have passed a major point in their typical season. Usually at
this time of year after the all star break the team begins to really
fade cause they are usually out of the running and no one cares as
long as the seats in the stadium are full. So yeah, one can get a
little excited now.

I would say that your perspective is more than a bit skewed.
Should we put it to a vote of the group regulars?

I said the group regulars. That would be folks like Claude, tks,
Michael Lanasa, Eric Margheim, Ray Heitmann.

You seem to get a certain thrill from bullying or hassling people
in this newsgroup. As often as not, it is those who are Cub fans
and actually want to post about the Cubs whom you target. Now I
wouldn't expect everyone to agree on every opinion posted, but
you don't debate issues so much as spew strawmen and make
personal insults.

As an example, there is one writer to the group who at one point
expressed a fondness for a certain beverage. Ever since you have
made snide comments regarding that person and that beverage and
insinuated that the person must be an alcoholic.

Perhaps I should just give up on ever seeing you engage in a
courteous, intelligent discussion of the Cubs and simply follow
the advice that Al Yellon gave me many years ago of adding you to
my killfile. Then I wouldn't be bothered with your mean-spirited
witticisms.

Have a good day.

Nope....Not going to get lured into this.

I have agreed and disagreed with both of you as I have with most others
in this NG.

I'll "pick sides" when it becomes important as when one of those idiot
"trollers", who can only use four-letter words, drops by.

Otherwise, I love everybody.

tks

Stop it. This is ridiculous.

This sequence began with an irritating homage to the wooef gods
(intentionally mispelled to express my contempt for the
non-existent) by Bubba.

As invariably happens with these homages, someone didn't get
it - in this case Frank.

Then instead of politely chuckling to himself or pointing out
that he had been joking, Bubba decided to play George Bush.

Oh sure. The Cubs are pretty much a lock for the WS, as I said
28 games ago.

How can you say I didn't get the joke after I stated that it
wasn't as if he (the original poster) was predicting the Cubs
would win the pennant? To start invoking the woof gods, somebody
has to actually woof first.

At any rate, I'm done with this thread.
