I moved up here to Oregon from So Cal where the only time you have
trouble getting into any of the games, (including Fullerton), is
during Regionals. What a shock.
OSU was sold out of season tickets at the start of the year. The only
time you could get in is when they bring in temporary bleachers, (and
the bleachers are THE most crude kind. The athletic department treats
the fans like *&%$, because they know that if they make you angry,
there will be some desperate soul waiting to take your place. I wish
it wasn't like this, but it is. There is a limited amount of things
to do here, and if you think they treat you badly during baseball
season, wait for football season to start. Unless you are a donor. . .
well, you get the idea.
The team has a distinct advantage over other infields, as they play on
an infield surface that is artificial and appears to be the height of
a putting green, and the consistency of a pool table. Practice on that
and you will have an advantage over others.
I saw a lot of pac 10 baseball, and OSU was far from the best team.
They were the best team in the post season. They didn't deserve to
dance in my opinion, because they had a losing record in conference
play.
This is a good argument against a playoff system in college football.
The team that won it all, shouldn't have even been there, given their
record. Losing record in football = no bowl.
My opinion
