good news and bad news...

The good news is that the Jays are ahead of the NYY. The bad news
is that the Jays are one game out of the basement...

They don't have a third baseman to replace Glaus. They don't have a
first baseman to replace Overbay. They don't have an outfielder to
replace Johnson. They don't have a relief pitcher to replace Ryan.
They don't have a 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th pitcher. And they don't have
a DH, period...

How much are they paying Thomas? Why? Wouldn't you really rather
have Delgado in there? Especially since he can play 1st? But they
couldn't afford Delgado. They told us all that, the week before
they bought the SkyDome for 20M and announced that they now had
money to spend on players.

That JP is really crafty. He made all the marginal fans think that
they couldn't afford Delgado anymore when really they could! Pretty
tricky!!!

4th place finish this year, unless TB ramps it up. And then it's
last place and, hopefully, goodbye to Ricky Riccardo and the rest of
the Lucy Show.
