FWIW, seven teams in our league are tied for first at 5-3...we only get 20
roster moves a year, max (100 units, 5 unit bid minimum), so roster moves
are often used to replace injured offensive players over acquiring a pitcher
that gets 2 starts.

I think you are being a bit harsh...Haren and Verlander are not nearly as
good as other pitchers out there in most leagues.
