Great day for us! You got to love it when the pitcher you just picked
up steps up and pitches 8 solid scoreless innings!

Guzburger got 2 hits which was a change. Phillies, Mets, and Braves all
lost. Gotta love it!

This is not natural. Something is very wrong. I demand an investigation.

Agreed. And, pitching around Erstad to get to Vlad each time..... The
defense on both sides was excellent. The Vinnie to Spivey DP, Spivey's
glove, Guz's arm... Too bad the ESPN yammerheads could only dwell on the
managers and more Morgan-centric dross, except for the 9th when Joe did pay
some attention to Cordero's location, repeatedly.....
I was worried about pulling Drese, even before Chad loaded the bases.
And, what *was* Tucker warming up in the bullpen for? Frank is *so* playing
with fire......... Considering Ohka pitched a CG shutout, I'm glad it all
worked out.

I liked Guz's lineout to the the human flypaper DaVanon for his only well
hit ball. He does have a great arm, though. Onward toward .200+....

Wow! 8 shutout innings with only 2 hits. He should do even better against
NL teams.

I would have sent him out for the 9th. Yet, he was lucky against the meat
of the order previously, so I can't fault Frank and maybe he was done. Drese
looked very composed, considering what he was out to prove. 2 of 3 from the
Angels on the road means they are legitimate contenders.
Where's that Rick S. guy now?...............

Since I couldn't watch the game, I listened to the coverage and followed the
mlb gameday coverage.

The gameday stats were very interesting. Only four of the 24 outs pitched
by Drese left the infield. That's extreme. I wish I could have seen the
game. Can anyone tell us how he looked? The performance certainly seemed
overpowering statistically.

I wonder why we were blacked out? It's not as if it was a home game; WDCA
didn't carry it. Anyone know?
