I can't find any site on the internet that shows any draft results
past the first round. it would be nice to see who the reds drafted
after the first round.

The overwhelming thing I notice there is the number of college players the
reds took. Yeah the 3rd guy is one, but you have to go to 13 before you hit
the second one. If any of these guys are gonna have careers, they better
start playing now.

You mean high school players.

Yeah, I subscribe to the fear and loathing school of Engrish.

What I meant to say was the reds drafted a high school player in the 3rd
round and they start appearing again after the 13th round, but everybody
else has some college on them. They better start out higher in the minors
(than a high school kid would) and play well or they'll all stall.

It would not shock me at all to see Alonso and Buchholz in Dayton(that's low
A ball) by July.

Is there any precedent for players who they feel are more advanced being
placed directly into AA? If Alonzo is as advanced as reported, being a
Dayton Dragon seems like a waste of everyone's time.

Ryan Wagner would be the most recent red to skip everything lower than High
A ball.
Even Junior had 180 at bats in low A ball, but that was as a 17 year old.
Todd Frazier was drafted out of college. Spent the end of that season in
Billings and put in 30 or so games in Dayton before moving to Sarasota.

JD Drew started at AA. Jockety would have been the GM.

I think they send them to Dayton and let them play with wood bats and beat
up the midwest league a bit. If it's too easy, send them to Sarasota to
finish the year.
If they score there as well, they're in Chattanoga to start next year and a
good develepmental year away from the big leagues.
