I know there are still 19 days left in the year, but I had to get this
in now.

To Mark, Sam, Ima, Agua, Triple, Brad, Little T, Theodore, Dr Wayne,
and all the other regulars in this group I may have immediately
forgotten:

Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Happy Kwanzaa, Happy New Year,
Shalom, Peace on Earth, and may 2009 bring many joyful new memories.
May we all be back here, hale and healthy, for first pitch.

Hey, you forgot Yule! Equinox! Saturnalia...I mean how can you be inclusive
if you don't include every religious celebration appropriate to the time of
year? I don't care if you have never heard of them! You, you, so-and-so!

I figured I had to make the last rant of the year unreasonable. We all know
I am very reasonable the rest of the time. <grin>

Happy holidays!

As my great grandfather used to say, "May the best of this year be the worst
of next year."

And be thankful Ned really hasn't made any big free agent signings. They
normally don't work out. (But I still want Manny back anyway)

Don, thank you and the same to you. Now, if Santa will just fill our

I'd settle for a new owner and GM, preferably Eli Broad (sp?) and a Ng-
White co-GMship. Thanks Santa : ^)

We're ALL baseball fans first. That's good enough for me.

I didn't forget it, but traditionally, the Celts that survived the
crossing of the channel decided the best way to celebrate the season
was to not acknowledge it at all. Really, walk around the streets of
London and Paris and you'll see this tradition carried through every
day of the year. They're just spreading the joy no matter the season.

Randy coeds at Salisbury U are the ones who came up with the dancing
around naked nonsense.

It may be nonsense but it is sort of fun.

Except on those really cold nights...then it's best left as a
spectator sport.

No no. I've danced naked with a group called Reclaiming. They aren't my cup
of tea but a solstice rite next to the sea is my idea of a good time. Those
of us that get naked get dibs on the fire. Those with clothes on freeze. Of
course when the guys are near the fire and you hear a pop from the wood and
sparks come flying out of the bon fire, folks will break into a chorus of,
"Chestnuts roasting on an open fire..."

Out-freaking-standing! I guess I was never smart enough to put in
play the inverse clothing/proximity law. Not flattering at certain
temperatures, to be sure.

The chorus is hilarious!

Same to you, and may the 2009 pennant race be a real nail biter.

Well, that would cure an iron deficiency.
