N. Johnson at first, Vidro (so far still an Expo) at 2nd, Cabrera at
short, Batista at 3rd, Rivera in left(?), Wilkerson in center(?),
Everett in right(?), Schneider catching, and Armas Jr., Hernandez, Day
leading the rotation.

Hard to know if Vlad Guerrero will be back to bolster that lineup. On
the one hand he's been rejecting 3-6 year deals for $15 to $20 mil a
season from at least 3 teams, obviously what people are saying about
location over money has been true. So if nobody from a team he wants
to play for steps forward he'll come back to Montreal. But then again
with a Washington group making a big bid to try and get the Expos
that'll hurt Montreal a lot, Guerrero doesn't want to play in DC
(location, remember?).

Vladimir Guerrero MAY sign with Baltimore but that is looking more
remote, he simply doesn't want to play there a lot. New York made a
run and got chased away. Florida has tried to talk but they've gotten
nowhere. Atlanta and San Fran and Oakland are all thinking of joining
Cleveland as latecomers. Montreal still has a chance but if the DC
reports come true then we'll lose the Cannon for sure.

I'd rather see that team with Vlad than without but who knows now,
another dithering year for MLB can't help the Expos get him back.

Good luck Vlad. Good luck Expos.

Vlad's a competitor. There's no way he'd sit on his butt until May 1 and
then resign with the Expos (which he would have to do if he's to come
back). Guerrero'll sign somewhere, if just to be on the field opening
day. Too bad it looks like it'll be somewhere else.

Of course, I'd love to be proven wrong.

How do you know he doesn't want to play in Baltimore?

5 weeks of talks and not even a hint from his agent that he's
interested, Vlad constantly saying throughout his time in Montreal
that location matters, his agent sending out notices to other teams,
not NYY or Baltimore, that he'd play for them.

He MAY sign with Baltimore if no other team makes a reasonable offer
but if a team he wants to play for steps up Baltimore has no chnace.
He'll take $12 mil a year from San Fran over $17 mil a year from
Baltimore, easily.

He has said he wants to live in a town with diversity (so not
Washington, so why Baltimore) and good fan acceptance, not mania.

Baseball is all about dithering so that's why no teams have made
public announcements about chasing him, only Baltimore needs the good
press.

You know, with Guerrero leading this incarnation of Nos Amours they would
have contended....but even without him they are fielding a decent squad this
year.

Omar Minaya could be waiting to see what Vlad does and maybe sign 1 more
Big bat?
Imagine if this guy was GM for the Expos in the mid 90's? sheesh...hat's off
to Omar...I think he still has an ace up his sleeve

Vlad signing anywhere for less than anything Montreal offered would be an
ironic slap in the face as far as Im concerned.

ps - Happy New Year!
