Shabby pitching......not very timely hitting......hitters leaving their bats
on their shoulders. Nothing ever changes with the Rockies. Hurdle,
O'Dud, and the Montfort's all deserve each other. Shame...Denver could have
been a good baseball town.

OTOH, there's also this. When the pitching is good, the hitting (And
ultimately the run scoring) is south of the border. When the hitting and
run scoring are good, the pitching is usually south of the border.

The Rockies can NEVER seem to get the two in sync NORTH of the border (They
can do it SOUTH of the border though, which is where they have been the last
few days Sad *Grrr*).

I'd leave Clint and Dan out of it. Under the circumstances, they've been
doing a pretty good job considering what they've got to work with. Not
world-beating by any means, but good enough to escape most of the blame
though.

I place the blame SQUARELY on the ownership group (Of which RUPERT MURDOCH
is a part if I'm not mistaken). They seem to think they can get something
for nothing. That just doesn't work in baseball (In fact, it doesn't work
ANYWHERE in sports).

If they don't believe me, they can ask Stan Kronecke or Pat Bowlen. At
least those guys KNOW how to put together a winning team.

I'm NOT suggesting we should expect the Rockies to go the World Series every
year. But if the Atlanta Braves can somehow be a contender year after year,
then why can't the Rockies do the same? I mean, it isn't that much to ask,
is it?

Give it time. Denver still might if the ownership group can ever get up
from that pile of sand they've been collectively sitting on since the team's
inception long enough to figure out where their collective ass is so they
can stick their collective hand inside it to pluck their collective head out
of it.

Then again, don't hold your breath waiting for that to happen.

Just my blunt opinion.

Cheers Very Happy
