It really does become comical after awhile.

No matter who becomes the Cub manager, after a few months they just seem
to walk about in a trance and forget every bit of management skills they
ever possessed.

One advantage to being a Cub fan that Cardinal fans will never
understand.... On a yearly basis,the team usually plays so poorly that
we don't have to worry or concern ourselves about winning the division
or making the playoffs. We can just sit back, relax with no pressure and
just enjoy watching baseball....May not be good baseball but baseball
nonetheless.

And if you are a fortunate Cub fan like myself, you sign up for Extra
Innings, which allows you to watch other teams play and see how the game
is meant to be played.

My good friend, Jerry from Decatur, every spring used to tell me how
Jody Davis was going to hit 55 or more homeruns and the Cubs would win
it all that season. By July, he had time to focus on the Bears. In a
strange way, I did sort of envy the fact that he had an extra 3 hours
per day from July to October that I usually did not.

It's looking like Joe Girardi was lucky not being chosen Cubs
manager this year.

The Cubs won't come out and say it in this manner, but that may be
exactly what they intend to do.

With the impending sale of the team it's hard to know Hendry's
motives. If he's unable to sign Zambrano beyond this season he should
trade him, probably closer to the deadline.

No, I never did join Al's blog, and I rarely read it anymore. I
switched ISPs earlier this year and never set up my newsgroups; just
lazy I guess. I've been still reading this group everyday on Google,
