Maynard.
Plus a lot of the regulars have web sites now.

I was wondering the same thing.

Unbelievable that a group would allow two morons to kill it.

It's not just this newsgroup. Usenet in general is dead. >> Stay informed about: Where is everyone? |

Yup: There are groups that are healthy, but they are the exceptions.
Much of the "talk about [whatever]" niche is filled by various blogs
and message boards and the like. It is a pity, as in many ways usenet
is the superior medium. But it turns out that wild-west anarchy has
its downside. In an active group, someone like Maynard would be a
minor annoyance. In a moribund group, the idiots are more prominent. >> Stay informed about: Where is everyone? |

I don't think Maynard and the Rose award clown killed the group. The
fact is that I've seen other usenet groups survive with much more
serious trolling and other problems, with literally dozens of
garbage posts every day. Here it just seems that a few
key contributors have disappeared for unknown reasons, and no
one has emerged to fill the void. Anyone who wants the group
to revive should just make the effort to post.
