First off the Angleos will not trade in the division. The guy has vetoed
trades before and I don't think he, or really the Jays for that matter,
want to trade in the division.

>Yes that seems to be the trend these
days, and Bedard is up for arbitration
next month and is asking for 8mill.
You can bet the Yanks and the Bo
Sox,would be licking their collective
chops though 8 mill is a bargain basement
special these days.
Especially since Santana looks like he
has gone to the Mets.

Also to be honest I don't think the Jays need to give up Rios in a trade
for Bedard and would not necessarily benefit from it.

>Maybe not Rios but you can never have
enough quality pitching it has cost the
Jays repeatedly over the last how many seasons of the so called 5 year
rebuild
by da baston beek.
Most of the big bucks jp has spent in the
last few years have spent over 50% of
the season riding the pines.
Bredard has better credentials than
almost every starter on the the Jays
roster except for Doc who is not getting
any younger. And has gone down to injury
two seasons in a row now.
And certainly better than AJ,who they
spent a small fortune multi year deal
on.
Rios was rumored to have been shopped
around by jp at the winter meetings with
no takers,jp seems to have penchant for overloading the infield and
neglecting the
obvious, and then blaming it on his players
In the end they may loose Rios to arbitration anyway.
And now jp has signed on another questionable player who refused a
medical before joining the team last
season and quashed the deal.

The team has a better than avg offence,
but imho you can never have enough
pitching.Bedard would be a welcome
addition to any franchise especially the
Jays imho.
Watch how fast he gets scooped up if
the O's don't come to terms and probably
for more long green than he is asking for.
