Actually its was a 8 DAY layoff!!!!! They swept the Diamondbacks in game
4 on Monday October 15th, 2007. They then had 8 straight days off
without playing a game, and then played their first game 9 DAYS later,
which was game #1 of the World Series on Wednesday October 24th.
I think that ANY team in Baseball that goes 8 days without playing is in
trouble, because you lose your timing, your hitting, and your pitching
among other things. Plus, there is no such thing as a 8 to 9 day layoff
in Baseball, it just doesn't happen! Out of all the 4 major sports (
MLB, NFL, NBA, NHL ), the only one that comes close to a layoff that
big, would be NFL Football, when the teams have their bye weeks.
So yes, the Rockies were on a huge roll and had all the momentum to win
the World Series, but going 8-9 days without playing a meaningful game,
took that all away from them, and hurt the team.
Do the RedSox fans really thing that their team would play this good
after a 9 day layoff???
Come on, gimme a break!!!!!
>> Stay informed about: The 6 day layoff is probably going to do
