reports have us considering trading for him. it'd be nice to dump lee
as part of a package for him, but according to reports, the yankees &
dodgers are more likely to offer enough to get the A's to pull the
trigger.

a rotation of sabatha, carmona, haren, westbrook and byrd (with haren
locked up until 2010 for only 16.5 mil total) is something i'd prefer
over dealng for a hitter like bay; i'd still like to see delucci get a
chance to prove shapiro right with the platoon thing and give time and
an open slot for snyder (our 2003 1st round pick) to fill the way
garko did.

i'd happily give up lee, sowers and francisco (although i suspect that
the A's would prefer laffey just because of lee's contract. but the
first thing i'd do is put haren on a stringent strength conditioning
program as he's always faded in the second half of the season. either
that or maybe increase his pitch count as the season progresses in the
hopes of keeping him fresher. if 15-20 innnings can make a diffrence,
i'd settle for 195+ innings instead of 215.

i wonder if a trade like that would actually entice sabathia to stay
vs. taking more money elsewhere but not going back to the playoffs.

I'd like to see the Tribe get him, a lot. One would think that they'd
have more to offer than the other teams involved. Lee, Sowers and Marte
seems like a nice starting offer, with upgrades possible. However, I still
am
hoping that your idea of Marte to Col. is on-going. And Barfield or Peralta
or someone on the IF is going.

Ok, I'll go along with this. Michaels plays hard, and Delucci was hurt.

I'd not be happy losing Francisco.
I wish he'd have had an opportunity vs .the Red sox.
Actually, I think he, Grady and Guttierez could be quality OFs
for quite a while.

Cognac or Blotter Acid talking here.
I see CC following the most C-notes.....
If the Yankees don't sign Santana, they'll sign CC.
Especially after another non-WS championship in 2008.
