Has anyone noticed the wooden crosses so many players are wearing this year?
Did baseball reinstitute the ban on shiny jewelry or did some evangelical
group get to a bunch of players?

Shiny jewelry is so chintzy and downscale and nowhere! The players are now
making enough money to have their religious symbols made from pieces of the
"True Cross."

Barry has his shiny gold earring on this year.

Yeah but that isn't a necklace type thing that moves around like a cross
would.

Personally, I hate that players 'give "G-d" credit" after a hit as if it is
appropriate to invoke any deity of any religion for a game and because they
give "Him" credit for a hit but not striking out. It is as if "G-d" is
against pitchers! <end rant>

Though, I'm curious about the necklace thing. I can't recall seeing any
flashy gold necklaces this year but I've seen that same style of cross on
players from many teams.
