I think Lidge looked OK, first time I really saw him pitch, where I watched.

Eaton wasn't completely horrible, but I appreciated the fact that he was
getting frustrated by his shitty pitching, too. Did you see that play where
he smacked his glove hand in anger?

So Taguchi should have made that catch.

And, last but not least, Burrell hits a clean double off the wall. Left
fielder trots to where ball will be, throws to a cut-off man, who catches,
then throws to second base, where Pat the Bat is out by a mile. Geez, how
slow is that guy, anyhow?

Of all the Phillies, he has been the biggest disappointment. Burrell
has actually played better D so far, and that is not an overstatement.

Howard's slump, Bruntlett, J Roll getting hurt.... all bad, but
Taguchi has very little asked of him, and he brings nothing.

In his defense, that was a tough play. And yes, he hasn't overwhelmed me
with confidence, but Pat the Bat's running? Would it make more sense to
have Billy Crystal pinch run for him? I don't see him (burrell) playing MLB
at age 34, or whenever his big contract runs out.

Burrell's contract is up after this season. The Phils have shown no
interest in resigning or extending him at the moment. I envision him in a
Mets uniform next season.

dude was made to be a dh.

he grew up in the general bay area...i can see him signing with the a's
if he's not too expensive and keeps up his habit of drawing walks. he's
a perfect billy beane type player. or maybe the red sox to make up for
manny. he'd hit a ton down in texas, in that park.

Well - If you hauling 14mil in your pockets, you'd be slow too.

Where he can most effectively continue in his role as a Met-killer?

And sadly enough, he was out of breath huffing and puffing in the dugout 3
minutes afterwards. Ever heard of "being in shape"?

He was 12 feet from the wall and the ball hit off the heel of his
glove, waist high. That is NOT a tough play!
