Fewer good things can be said, unfortunately, about several of the new
position players on the team. Feliz (OPS+ 45), Bruntlett (OPS+ 45),
and Taguchi (OPS+ 30) have been brutal. Jenkins has been disappointing
(OPS+ 74) and among the returning players Ruiz (39), Howard (65), and
Werth (74) have underperformed.
The optimist in me expects Howard to pick it up, Rollins to eventually
post MVP-like numbers after returning, and Werth to be somewhat above
league average by the end of the year. However the realist in me
(after all, my earliest sports-related memories are from '64) figures
Bruntlett, Taguchi, and Feliz to be WYSIWYG.

Feliz is going to hit like 30 HRs. His play at 3rd, IMHO, has been OK, but,
I heard he was all that. Bruntlett is going away soon, hopefully. Taguchi is
no Iguchi. Ruiz will pick it up, but I have no problem seeing Coste play
every day and giving Ruiz day games. Howard will bat .300 the rest of the
season, and still get to 40 HRs.
A little luck has helped the Phillies this year, so far. Still see no issues
declaring them division winner from where I see.
That, and $4 will get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks.
