I don't think they do, but I'd feel better if they did something. For me,
it's not about the law or morality - it's simply about being nice. I'm not
so idealistic, though, that I think a huge corporation will do things simply
to be nice. I'm sure they've got a math whiz or two trying to figure out
the cost differentials of doing something now, fighting the lawsuit(s)
later, and how much money goodwill and positive PR will bring in. >> Stay informed about: How bout the Dodgers step up... |

Not paying for someones medical bills when they were hurt by your players at
your arena, is not enough.
Furthermore, what is with your long winded comments?
<----jolts himself awake...
Thanks for breakin that down for all of us Einstein.
Just my observation, but when people go through all of that long winded
analysis hardly anyone actually reads it, and they just usually come across
as a condescending douche bag.
You, on the other hand, don't seem to limit yourself to any particular
subject. It seems you will insert your condescending dissertations into any
old inane dialogue hoping to win by simply boring people into not reading
what you have to say, and thereby having the last word. >> Stay informed about: How bout the Dodgers step up... |

Dude, having conversed with AG on a baseball list for a couple of years now,
I can honestly say you are off base here. Relax.
This is a discussion about baseball, bats and injuries. Let's talk about it
and not cause more bumps and bruises in the process. Wasn't your point
something about being nice? >> Stay informed about: How bout the Dodgers step up... |

Well most everyone else already understands business fundamentals, you
however seemed to have also slept through that class.

Ohhh...name calling...I didn't realize I was debating a 10th grader. Are
you sure you don't want to diss my mother while your at it.

Well I guess if you couldn't come back with anything other than some name
calling I did a good job of it. Here I pegged you as a socialist, now I
find out your just ignorant. My bad.

Thanks Trip, nice of you to stick up for me but I have thick skin. It's not
like the kid really knows me or anything. Hard to take someone serious who
still uses terms like "douche bag" LOL.

No Corky. I don't think there's a notable moral obligation in either
case. If my car is damaged in an accident my insurance company is
legally obliged to fix it due to the contract we signed stating as
much. If the damage is legally due to someone else's negligence as
determined by the police report then their insurance company is
responsible, due to their agreed upon contract. It has little to do
with some pie-in-the-sky morality play.

If I am showing frustrations it's because I'm debating with a
intellect slightly greater than that of your common sea slug. You
have yet to make a single noteworthy point in this discussion, much
less one that entails "winning the debate."

An argument could certainly be made by this woman that she was only
assuming the normal risks that everyone associates with baseball, and
that bats coming apart and flying hundreds of feet through the air is
such a recent phenomenon that most people don't think it possible.
