.....if you have young kids and they like baseball, get them into
pitching. If they are half-way decent, they could end up on any major
league roster, or maybe in Japan. Ayala is a typical example, I like
the guy, but his stuff is really easy to pick up for hitters
(obviously). The state of pitching is so bad at so many levels,
especially with the league's expansion, there's no reason to think
your kids can't make a good living hurling the ball. They used to say
"be a catcher" cuz nobody wants to do that job. Now it should be
"just pitch" cuz almost nobody can.
