Just thinking of the Oakland A's player who got injured apparently in a fight
in a Boston bar during the playoffs. Especially dumb when you are the visiting
team, you never know what drunks or idiots you could run into that want to pick
a fight or mouth off at you and then the fists start flying (or whatever happened
in this situation).

It would be even dumber if it had actually happened. Fortunately it didn't.

Gee, I thought that's when the fun started . <wink>
Especially in Bean-Town. You might want to go get a
copy of "Dead By Dawn" for some Bar-Fight pointers.

Dumb question of the day - A reporter asked Garner if the White Sox pitching is as good as advertised. ESPN News carries the post-game sessions. I have noticed that when th baseball rep picks out a reporter by name you get a valid question. Call on "over there" and...

Why are managers the only people who can't see just how du.. - You've got a 2-0 lead, your star pitcher has got through 7 innings with under 80 pitches and only one hit, and you have a very flaky bullpen. You get a man on first with 2 out in the bottom of the 7th and the pitcher due up. Do you a) let him hit, knowin...

Another dumb Bowden trade? - Juan Rivera and a prospect from the "Expos" for Jose Guillen? Even leaving aside headcase-osity, depending on the prospect, is Guillen really that much better?
