In the 1950's and 1960's antiinflammatory steroids became available, these
drugs were not available to help players before that, also the number of
antiinflammatories besides, aspirin, aminopyrine and phenacatin, which were
available during the ruth era has been enhanced to include the non steroidal
antiinflammatory drugs, as well as the newer drugs like celebrex, vioxx and
bextra. Indocin and phenylbutazone were available from the late 50's
phenylbutazone is theoretically not available anymore. should players who
use bute, then have an asterix on their marks. The world of pharmacology is
much different today than it was in the Ruthian era.
