My wife, Jill, and I are Texas Rangers fans and are coming to see the
game on Thursday. We are staying at a hotel near the airport. Is
parking a hassle? I understand that there is bus service from some
park and ride lots. What would be the best one to use if we were
coming up from our hotel?

Are there any special foods served in the ball park that we should not
miss?

Do you have any recommendations on cheap or moderately priced
restaurants. Spefically, we would like to have grilled halibut on one
day and fish and chips on the other.

Are we forgiven yet for stealing A-Fraud from you? We wete so happy
to see him go to the Yankees, even thougfh we are still paying a
significant part of his salary.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Special M's bus routes don't run for weekday games.
Parking shouldn't be a hassle - they're probably only expecting 25K
people, which means prices for parking at a 4-5 block distance should
be in the $10 range. The garages (Safeco or Qwest) is $19 and
you should be able to get in (getting out takes some time.)

Not really, although the garlic fries have fans. The Kidd Valley char-
broiled burgers are good. The Porters BBQ sandwiches are my fav,
with the Ivars' Fish/Clam n' chips 2nd. We often bring in food, as
it's far cheaper (you can't bring drink bottles/cans in, but takeout
food can be brought in.)

If you have Terrace Club tickets (or can get someone to lend you
theirs), the food there is far better - hand-carved sandwiches, pasta,
even the nachos - are way better than average.

The Ivars' at Safeco is pretty good - fries are not, but the fish and
clams are first rate. If you're close to the Airport, try 13 Coins
for first rate food; they're open 24/7 and very good for fresh seafood,
if more pricey than some places (you may find their prices reasonable.)
The Anthony's in the Des Moine Marina (3-5 miles south of the airport)
is the best place for seafood, and probably rates as moderate.

Check out Ivar's on Pier 54. You can walk from Safeco if you want, although
it is a bit of a walk.
Best chowder in Seattle and really good fish -n- chips. Plus, you eat
outside and can watch the ferrys on Puget Sound.
Lots of interesting shops to go through on the waterfront. Take the kids to
Ye Olde Curiosity Shop. Always liked going there as a kid.

Enjoy the game.

We had a ball except that our Rangers lost. We arrived on Thrusday,
went straight to the Museum of Flight then to Anthony's in Des Moines
for a late lumch. We parked in the parking garage. Had seats in the
front row on the 2nd deck which were padded and easy on our elderly
butts. The ball park is beautiful and the fans are friendly. All in
all a great experience.

The second day, we drove down toward Mount Rainier and took lots of
pictures, then headed up Pacific Coast Ighway, had lunch at Ivar's
then headed up to Arlington to visit my aunt. We watched the Friday
game (Rangers win) on their 50 inch HDTV (now I want one). Flew back
to DFW on SAturday morning.

All in all a great trip.
